Shan recently graduated from Iowa State University with a double major in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Studies. Driven by a passion for human-centered design and social problem study, Shan enjoys challenging herself in educational and institutional design, public health design, public recreational park and residential design. Shan was the 2017 ASLA Iowa State University student representative; her speech “Rethinking of Aging Wellness Design” explored the global aging issue and gave an innovative vision on the future of aging communities. Shan is excited to learn and experience more at Confluence. In her free time, she enjoys movie dubbing, bonsai trimming, Ikebana and skiing. We’re glad to have you onboard, Shan!
Kaitlyn earned her Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture and a Minor in Horticulture from Iowa State University. She enjoys landscape architecture as it combines several of her interests; the outdoors, drawing and horticulture. Kaitlyn has spent a lot of time traveling through Europe, Mexico and the United States, which has given her a broad view of the natural and built landscapes that she hopes to be inspired by for future designs. She also studied at the University of Hawaii at Hilo for a semester. Kaitlyn earned a minor in Horticulture as she enjoys all the plant varieties available and wanted to know more, such as plant care and suitability for sites. We look forward to having you on the team, Kaitlyn!
