Rich with history and adjacent to the Perry Nature Native Plant Community Area, this site is abundant in natural assets and interpretive opportunities.
Confluence led a creative process to update the master plan and phased implementation for the development of this new arboretum. Through numerous phases of construction, the arboretum improvements feature educational and recreational elements - highlighting the area's natural and cultural history. Interpretive signage and environmental graphics are integrated throughout the garden areas to provide a content-rich interactive experience.
Our team led the site design, construction documents and administration, interpretive environmental graphics, and site detailing efforts for the project. Interpretive themes and narratives were developed in collaboration with the local Siouxland Heritage Museum, Augustana College’s Archaeology Lab team and local historians
