The new master plan for this beloved existing park facility responds to community input and creates a phased approach for implementation of short-term and longer-term improvements.
This iconic park boasts numerous mature trees and hosts the City's annual 4th of July festivities for the entire community. The site also contains a softball field used by the Urbandale High School girls team as their home field. The new plan sets a path for the City to move forward with more immediate additions including a splash pad and conversion of tennis courts for pickleball facilities, while creating a longer-term opportunity to relocate the local high school girls softball team from this park to a new facility on school property to make way for new enclosed park building facilities, an expanded playground, and amenities to support additional community recreation activities,
