Division Street Corridor Enhancements

Melrose Park, Illinois

The goal to revitalize the aesthetic appearance of this corridor helped to reposition the Village's identity - differentiating from the neighboring inner-ring suburbs of west Chicago.

Leading a multi-disciplinary team, our professionals created strategies for enhancing the streetscape appearance along the Division Street Corridor to support a nascent restaurant district while encouraging other restaurant and entertainment uses to located within the district. The planning framework included new gateway features, key intersection improvements, and replacing parking lanes with a landscaped median.

Key identifying elements include tall steel pylons and an overhead canopy of integrated thematic LED lighting. New sidewalks, decorative brick paving, new shade trees and site furnishings were also provided throughout the corridor.
