Veterans Memorial Park
Sioux Falls, South Dakota
This 22-acre park was developed as a remembrance destination for Sioux Falls, intended to honor and commemorate the service of our local U.S. veterans.
Located on the site of a former WWII Army Air Corps training base, this park includes formal and informal gathering areas, a Medal of Honor Garden, several unique memorials, a collection of public art and an activity plaza. The design allows for additional future memorials to be incorporated and expanded over time.
Confluence provided master planning and design services including site selection and a phased implementation plan. Public input workshops were used to identify issues and to create a design that truly served the community and the veterans’ need for space to accommodate a variety of annual activities and events.
Since completion of the final stage of major construction, Confluence has continued to be involved with additional planning of the park - providing design for the implementation of several additional memorial and art installations.
