In the heart of the Edina's Grandview District, a community-centered design transforms a vacant public works site into a new residential tower complete with artists’ lofts, a municipal art center and a large civic green space.
This design prominently features a multi-use central lawn area that boasts opportunities to host many programs, gatherings and public events including festivals, markets, performances, and sporting events. The space was made accessible through a series of designed terraces, introducing forms that compliment the architecture and provide an essential connection to adjacent streets.
Expanded pedestrian walks and bicycle connections improve the overall multi-modal circulation and accessibility per the Grandview District Transportation District Study guidelines, while also encouraging use of alternative modes of transportation.
