Clear Creek Trail + Trailhead

Confluence served as the design lead for two phases of Clear Creek Trail system improvements. These phases include the addition of 1,700 feet of PCC trail and the design of a major trailhead facility to serve the trail system that generally follows the Clear Creek corridor.   The new trail alignment takes full advantage of the landscape experience along the creek by guiding the user through lowland riparian zones and then carefully elevating the trail within design limits to upper mesic areas.

The new trail system has received compliments from staff of the National Parks Service.  A multi-use pavilion structure at the trailhead facility is designed to serve as a gathering point, an interpretive center, a creek turbidity monitor, a picnic area, and includes restroom facilities. This structure is also designed to withstand flash flood events from the Clear Creek watershed basin.
