Confluence was hired to assist with site design, landscape, and streetscape design for the new JE Dunn Construction Company world headquarters in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Designed to house over 500 employees, this urban redevelopment project will serve as an anchor to a major downtown redevelopment in the northeast portion of downtown Kansas City. Ranked as one of the largest general building companies in the United States, JE Dunn understood the need for their facility to be a signature work of architecture and a viable contributor to the surrounding community fabric. For this reason, design excellence, context sensitivity, and sustainability were all weighed throughout the process.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, Confluence provided design services for pedestrian plazas, an auto court arrival, streetscape, and a green roof. The design also incorporates a rain garden into the auto court and a holding tank for capturing rain water for irrigation.
