Civic + Institutions
In many ways, the character of our communities can be reflected in the quality and appearance of its civic facilities. Our design approach for these facilities generally involves gaining a solid understanding of a community’s unique sense of place – including its history, its self-image today, and exploring the type of place it aspires to become in the future.
Our team of landscape architects and planners regularly collaborate with architects and engineers to collectively design high-quality civic facilities that maximize operating efficiencies while providing a safe and comfortable environment for both employees and the general public. These facilities typically provide opportunities to inform and educate the public and private sectors regarding appropriate sustainable site development practices and energy-efficient building design solutions, and to illustrate the pragmatic and cost-effective nature of these improvements as a long-term benefit for the community.
Whether designing for a single-use building, an adaptive renovation or expansion of an existing facility, or completing a master plan for a campus that includes several new facilities, Confluence is experienced in leading the site design and development efforts to ensure the new facility will consistently meet the needs of the community – now and in the future.
