  • Matt Carlile

ASLA, PLA, LEED AP / PRINCIPAL

    · view profile ·
    • Matt graduated from Kansas State University (GO WILDCATS!) with a degree in Landscape Architecture and a minor in Regional and Community Planning before moving to Iowa in 1998. After six years of experience with another firm, Matt joined Confluence in the spring of 2004. He has continued to grow as a landscape architect and leader within the firm. His growth and dedication makes him a valuable member of our team and in the summer of 2012, he became a stockholder, and in 2016 a Principal. Matt is currently the Trustee for the Iowa Chapter of ASLA, and has held several other positions within the organization. He is very committed to the present and future practice of landscape architecture in the state.

Matt and his wife, Crista, designed and built their own home in Urbandale in 2007. Somehow, late in that same year; they were blessed with the arrival of their daughter, Devon. Fast forward nine years, yep (9). In 2016, they were again blessed with the arrival of their son, Calvin. Matt enjoys spending time with all of them; usually on a court or a field as he also coaches youth girls basketball and softball. He prides himself on being a Midwest guy. He wants everyone to know that he completed the fourth phase of his home bar and EVERYONE is welcome to stop in. (How does a bar have phases?) In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors and nurturing a small acreage in south central Iowa. Matt’s plans to attract and keep that ‘record buck’ on the acreage have been relatively successful, but the buck seems to elude him.  Here at Confluence we are glad that Matt and his family call Iowa home. The Confluence team is better because of it.
